Cheddar & Scallion Toast
Scallions and garlic flavor the topping, to make the perfect broiled cheese toast. Sharp (old) cheese is the secret to making this rich tasting appy. Serve alongside spaghetti, stew, or chowder.
Cheddar & Scallion Toast
Ingredients
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese grated
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine softened
- 4 scallions chopped
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Italian Flatbread or Baguette
Instructions
- Use food processor to combine cheese mixture, process until smooth.
- Depending how thick you made your flatbread, cut it in half horizontally or leave as is. Spread cheese mixture on flatbread, place on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 400°F.
- Cut into 1” thick slices.
