A traditional South Asian meat dish with curry.
  • ¾ cup onions, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb hamburger (or ground turkey)
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 Tbsp curry powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp coriander
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1 Tbsp lime or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup peas, frozen
  • Black pepper to taste
  1. In a skillet add onions, garlic and oil. Cook until onions are soft, and set aside.
  2. Cook ground beef thoroughly, then add remaining spices and cooked onions. Add tomatoes, lime juice, sugar and peppers, and cook for 15 minutes. Add peas and cook for another 15 minutes (if it seems too dry, add more tomatoes).
Serving Suggestions: rice, peanuts, unsweetened coconut.
