A delightful change of pace from everyday toast!
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp anise seed
  • 1 cup white corn flour
  1. Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly, then add anise seed. Sift and measure flour, and add to the sugar/egg mixture until combined.
  2. Pour into a greased loaf pan (pan will be only half full) and bake at 375°F for about 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean.
  3. Remove loaf from pan and cut loaf into sixteen ½" thick slices.
  4. Place slices on greased baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes, or until bottoms of slices are browned; turn and bake another 5 minutes, or until sides are browned.
