Anisette Toast
A delightful change of pace from everyday toast!
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp anise seed
- 1 cup white corn flour
Instructions
- Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly, then add anise seed. Sift and measure flour, and add to the sugar/egg mixture until combined.
- Pour into a greased loaf pan (pan will be only half full) and bake at 375°F for about 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean.
- Remove loaf from pan and cut loaf into sixteen 1/2" thick slices.
- Place slices on greased baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes, or until bottoms of slices are browned; turn and bake another 5 minutes, or until sides are browned.
